About

My Passion for all things “foodie” began at a very young age while growing up on a farm in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California.

My grandparents and parents grew numerous fruits and vegetables, including my favorites: sweet tomatoes, corn on the cob, strawberries, melons, squash, chili, and cucumbers.

My father was a man who took great pride in working the land and to this day harvest the Thompson seedless grape, which results into my favorite dried fruit, the raisin.

I was taught as a youngster how important it was to consume quality food and how to decipher between a ripe tasty melon and a green not so ripe one, simply by touch and sound.

I grew up creating recipes with both of my grandmothers spending quality time together, having fun, and creating “Minorpieces” that evolved into “Masterpieces” of mine in the present day.
I created my first cookie at age of 10 and named the batch “Christine’s Cookies”. My siblings/critics  berated my first attempt at cookies which encouraged me to improve upon the recipe and I won the tough crowd over to critical acclaim.

My baking along with creative gourmet dinners got me out of boring chores, such as cleaning and this further motivated my journey in collecting and creating recipes.
When I reached college I wanted to extend my passion for food; fortunately, California State University Fresno offered food science as a major where I quickly gravitated. I was captivated by the chemistry of food and graduated with honors to become a Microbiologist, working for Odwalla, a California based juice company.

Plating microbes and looking for yeast and molds was not my cup of tea, so I left to find a job where I could interact with people.
I diverted to Commercial Real Estate where my primary role was to find space for start-up, “dream businesses” for my clients and realized I wanted my own “dream business“.  Consequently, I created numerous cookie recipes, salads, and entire savory meals.

“Foodie Amor” was born when in 2010 I opened Foodie Amor Bakery in Leucadia, CA and had the pleasure of creating the highest quality cookies that supplied 13 Nordstrom Espresso Bars in Southern CA. I expanded my menu to include healthy meals, which later resulted in the sale of the bakery and to concentrate on health/fitness and the growth of Foodie Amor Healthy Meals and Catering.

I believe food is a universal language and you can put a smile on almost anyone’s face if they are happy with the food they are consuming; especially if the food is made with the best ingredients, all natural, and no preservatives all the things that Foodie Amor stands for – delicious nutritious food that suit many palettes – with organic, gluten free, dairy free, and plant based options.
I am happy to follow my passion for food, and to offer everyone a taste of heavenly great products, made the old fashioned way.
